Quick thoughts on the future

Hello Friend

It’s currently a warm June day, I’m listening to the Nujabes song flower, with at least one American starling chirping outside my window, and the combination effect is incredibly relaxing in a surreal kind of way.

It’s surreal not just because of the beauty of the man made and organic music, but because I’m thinking about how the world basically went through the trash compactor in 2020, and right now for me things couldn’t be calmer. Restrictions are opening up and it’s becoming more safe to socialize within Halifax. We had rough second wave but now things seem to be getting better. There are still variants, there’s still new cases every day, and… yea. That’s it. I think it’s good things are opening up and I’m glad the near future is looking better than it was a year ago.

The Nova Scotian government did a great job in the grand scheme of things. As I look back upon the pandemic I had some great times during the calm periods of covid. I went to Polly’s cove. That was fucking beautiful.

But for now we’re still in the early dawn of this new world, and the dust certainly hasn’t settled and it’s not clear what post covid will look like.

We’re the new generation and we have to take ownership for our actions and how we build the future. I’m sure it’ll be a good one…

Almost sure.
