Newfoundland Street Photography

This was originally going to be a continuation of my previous post on Corner Brook Street Photography  but since a lot of the images are taken outside the city of Corner Brook, the title doesn’t really apply anymore.

I love taking street photographs here in Newfoundland, there’s always a beautiful landscape in sight. I think it’s important to immerse yourself in nature in order to be happy, something that so many modern city planners have forgotten.

I love the quietness of being around Corner Brook. A small population may be something that many street photographers may see as a downside but I disagree, I think a small population allows me to really appreciate every photo opportunity I get (although the opposite is equally true, it often makes me feel even more upset when I miss a photo because I know how long it’ll be before a subject passes by again). But overall I love the community of people that can be formed in a small town, I enjoy seeing the same people on my daily walks around town. It reminds me that people are more than just another person passing by, they’re complex human beings with hopes and dreams of their own. I’m not sure why being in a small town has made me think of this more than when I was living in Halifax, maybe it just has to do with myself growing up in general, and has nothing to do with the place that I reside in. But I digress, the point of this post was to show you a collection of photographs and not ramble on for too long. I hope you enjoy the little momento’s I’ve accumulated through my magic memory recording box called a camera.
