Throughout my lifetime as a photographer I’ve had a several opportunities to go backstage for various fashion shows. The experience was always intriguing, fascinating, hilarious, and a great way to find interesting photographs.
As photographers we’re there to tell a story. It’s our job to transport the viewer backstage and show them this moment in time. If we’ve done our job correctly it should make the viewer want to see more. If you ever have the chance to see a fashion show I’d highly recommend it. It’s interesting to see the convergence of an artists laborious work (sometimes over months making a single piece), and how the model presents themselves in addition to that work of art.
