What a joy to be alive

What a joy it is to be alive, and to really see the world.

It sounds deceptively simple, “seeing the world” sure sounds easy enough, we do it all the time. But when dealing with the everyday stresses that come with modern life it can easily become excruciatingly difficult to do. It’s possible for one moment to have everything be fine, and the next moment you start thinking about how you need to get up early for work and can’t go out with your friends, or how you promised your partner that you were going to run that errand for them and you can’t just go straight home and relax, or how when you do get home to relax you remember all of the bills that need to be paid, and that’s all you can think about for the rest of the night. The point that I’m trying to make is that seeing and appreciating the world isn’t to assert that the world is beautiful and perfect all of the time, it’s that if we can’t keep our minds focused on the things around us then we may forget our blessings and instead have our minds wander on things that we can’t change in life.

As always don’t forget to smell the roses and ignore the negativity. Life is full of little moments of beauty if you keep your eyes open.
